What Are Lip Injections?
Lip injections are treatments that use facial fillers to add volume and shape to your lips as well as soften vertical lip lines. This is a great alternative to lip implants or using makeup to make your lips look more supple and full. The injections work by adding hyaluronic acid to the skin. Hyaluronic acid is special in that it attracts water molecules and holds them in the skin. As this process occurs, your lips gradually gain fullness and hydration.
How Much Do Lip Injections Cost?
We suggest you schedule a complimentary consultation with our Aesthetic PA/RN so we can design an individual treatment plan for you. This appointment is your opportunity to share how you want your lips to look, including any small imperfections such as vertical lip lines or asymmetry that you would like to improve. The treatment plan is the foundation for determining the cost of your lip injections. We accept payment by cash and major credit cards, and you can find more information about payments on our financing page.

Am I a Candidate for Lip Injections?
If you have naturally thin lips or if you have noticed that your lips are thinning as you get older, you may be a good candidate for our lip injections. You should not have any sores or active infections on or around your lips. If you have had any lip injections in the past or have experienced any unwanted side effects from dermal fillers and injectables in the past, please discuss this with us at the time of your consultation. As we use dermal fillers that contain lidocaine to help ensure you are comfortable during your lip enhancement, you may not have lip enhancement with our fillers if you are allergic to lidocaine. Finally, notify us if you have ever (even once many years ago) had a cold sore on your lip as we would prescribe an antiviral medication to help prevent a potential cold sore from developing after your treatment.
What Should I Expect from Lip Injections?
At Aloe Dermatology, we offer lip injections with the family of Juvéderm® products. Each type of Juvéderm® facial filler contains hyaluronic acid that is suspended in a gel. Once the gel is injected into your lips, it results in more volume. Over time, the gel is absorbed by your body, leaving behind the hyaluronic acid to increase the number of water molecules.
Your lips may feel tight and tender after the injections for the first two to three days. You can gently apply cold compresses, but do not place any pressure on the lips for the first week. This allows the gel to settle into the skin. The results with optimal correction, may last several months to a year, depending on the specific Juvéderm® products that are used. Results, however, may vary.
Our patients love lip injections with Juvéderm® because the procedure preserves the natural texture and feel of your lips.
